1924. Sunk 2 kms out from Port Phillip Bay

Transferred to Australia on 25th March 1919 and scrapped in February
1924. J3 is a breakwater on the northern tip of Swan Island

AE Class 1914 - 1915
AE1 1914 - 14/09/1914
Lost with all hands (possibly caused by equipment failure), the exact
location unknown. AE1 is believed to be located off the Bismarck
Peninsular, Papua New Guinea. AE1 was the first allied submarine
loss of WW1
AE2 1914 - 30/04/1915
Sunk in action against the Turkish in the Sea of Marmora. Ironically if
AE2 had not penetrated the Dardanelles there may have been no
landing of troops at Gallipoli
